New kennels for Birmingham Dogs Home

Santa1Recently it has been announced that the Birmingham Dogs Home will soon to be relocated to a purpose built state of the art dog kennels. This fantastic news means that all the rescue dogs in the Birmingham area will be housed in a much better environment. The new kennels will be able to accommodate unto 150 dogs so all the lost or abandoned dogs in the Birmingham area should in future be housed in much better conditions.
The new dog kennel has been designed by the architect firm ‘Associated Architects’ and should feature a suite of veterinary facilities, a behavioural suite as well as high end kennels and exercise areas. It is also expected that there will be excellent dog grooming facilities so that dogs can be prepared for their new owners. The new kennel will be designed with green measures in mind and many sustainable materials will be used  and the kennel should be well lit with a glass roof being proposed.
High levels of insulation and natural ventilation should set to earn it a Breeam ‘Excellent’ rating. Construction is due to start on the new kennel system in early 2014 with the opening day set sometime in 2015 which can’t come soon enough for the staff at the dogs home.
